Local Gallery update [1.7.9]


In this somewhat larger 1.7.9 update, the following has been added, improved or fixed:

Additions:

  • Added a visual indicator if a level is validated during play-testing.
  • Added saving of level editor levels.
  • Added publishing to local gallery in the level editor.
  • Added opening and loading of previously saved level editor levels.
  • Added a prompt when to warn the player of any unsaved changes before exiting or loading a different level.
  • Added rules explaining when and how a custom level can be validated.
  • Added tabs for controls and rules + improved layout of the controls in the level editor.
  • Updated the titlescreen to include the button to the Creative Corner in the central vertical ropes menu.
  • Added a local gallery in which custom levels can be browsed. Added level preview images to the level cards in the local gallery

  • Added the rating of levels 1 to 5 stars can now be given to a custom level.
  • Added a dialogue tutorial system to ease the player into the first few levels and explain the core concept.

Improvements:

  • Improved visual distinction between level editor versus play-testing.
  • Improved custom level file security with HMAC based authentication.

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed a bug where hedges from the previous level would sometimes remain after loading a new level in the level editor.
  • Fixed a bug where a level would be incorrectly marked as not yet validated after validating in play-testing.
